AboutSime Nugent Furniture

“I love making furniture that’s got a light touch, clean lines and feels really good to be around. I work with people to get their ideas on paper and we take it from there. It’s satisfying work, and the result is unique and long lasting furniture.”

Sime Nugent Furniture specialises in handcrafted practices and interior design with a strong emphasis on classic lines made with recycled and responsibly processed Australian hardwood.

Sime has designed and constructed domestic and commercial spaces and objects in collaboration with a range of clients including:

Upstairs at Commoner Restaurant (Fitzroy), Robe Shop (Fitzroy), Breakfast and Beer (Daylesford) and Rockwell and Sons (Collingwood)

He has previously worked in close collaboration with Mark Anstey, helping to design and build many diverse projects, including the celebrated Castlemaine arts space,  Lot 19.

Sime is also an accomplished musician (Sweet Jean, the Wilson Pickers) who regularly plays and records around the country.

He is also a sculptor, a career he began at the VCA.
